Senior Director of Public Health & Workplace Safety
Amir Hemmat is the current Senior Director of Public Health and Workplace Safety for Zeel. Amir has focused on the procurement and supply chain management of PPE supplies over the past two decades, beginning with his service as a Health Policy Consultant to the California State Legislature in 2001. He is a longtime advocate for, and policy advisor to, federal and local governments for affordable and accessible healthcare and equipment.
Amir is also Senior Advisor for the Health Care and Manufacturing & Supply Chain practices for strategy consulting firm Monarch Global Strategies. In addition to his work with health care and PPE supply chains, he is a co-founder and CEO of Los Angeles-based tech startups Welcome Technologies and SABEResPODER.
Amir has a B.A. in Economics from UCLA, a degree in Applied Physiology from Chicago Medical School, and a Masters of Public Health from the University of Southern California.
Michael C. Camuñez is Senior Advisor to Zeel, and the current President and CEO of Monarch Global Strategies LLC, a consulting firm providing strategic advice and advocacy in both domestic and global markets.
A trade and economics expert, Camuñez served from 2010 to 2013 as one of the nation’s leading commercial diplomats as the Assistant Secretary of Commerce at the International Trade Administration, where he helped lead federal U.S. efforts to open new markets for goods and services and modernize cross-border trade and investment.
Camuñez previously served for two years as Special Counsel to the President in the Office of the White House Counsel, as well as Special Assistant to the President. He is a former equity partner of the global law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP and of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP.
A graduate of Harvard College and Stanford Law School, he is a Trustee of the David & Lucile Packard Foundation and Stanford University.
Founder & CEO
Samer Hamadeh is founder & CEO of Zeel. An experienced entrepreneur, Samer has created, led, and advised successful tech startups for over 20 years. Samer is also a scout for Lightspeed Venture Partners, which he joined in January 2010 as an entrepreneur-in-residence. Samer first entered the tech-powered home delivery space in 2008 as an investor and board member of Dotmenu, the campus food delivery service, which was sold to GrubHub (NYSE: GRUB) in August 2011.
Prior to that, Hamadeh was co-founder and CEO of Vault.com, which was sold in October 2007 to Veronis Suhler Stevenson, a New York-based media-and-communications private-equity firm. Before co-founding Vault, Samer was an associate at the Los Angeles management consulting firm LEK Consulting, where he focused on corporate and business strategy. Prior to that, Samer co-founded and managed a customized-textbook printing company, worked at the Chevron Corporation, and co-authored The Internship Bible and America’s Top Internships (Random House/Princeton Review).
Samer sits on the board of the PeaceWorks Foundation, is an executive board member of Venture For America, and is a board observer, angel investor, and/or advisor in nearly a dozen early-stage companies, including PrivCo, Emerge, Audicus, Bbot, Directly, URWelcome, GetMaid (sold to Homejoy/Google), and PublicStuff (sold to Accela). Samer is also a mentor at several accelerators, including German Accelerator and Lazaridis Institute as well as a member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO). A David Rockefeller Fellow, Samer holds a BS in chemistry and an MS in chemical engineering from Stanford University.
